This page lets you edit information about a course. It also gives you access to a number of useful tools. If you wish to edit some information that you can't find on this page, you might want edit_subject.php.

Editing a Course

If you want to change the data for a course, fill in the following fields and hit "Save".

  • Subject
    • Select the name of the subject the class falls under.
  • Course name
    • Likely the same as the subject name, put the brief description of the course that you want to appear on reports.
  • Course Subset
    • Put some arbetrary string describing this course's set (i.e. "1" for set one Math, or "WDN" for Mrs. Widenmaier's English class).
  • Classroom
    • Put the name of the classroom here. Please be accurate.
  • Seats
    • Put the number of seats available into this box. Seats are used when autofilling students using preselection dry run, as well as when registering students in a course.
  • Start date/End date
    • The first and last classes of this course.
  • Teachers
    • This allows you to assign teachers to this course. This is unfortunately quite complicated.
      • To add a teacher, check the box in the left panel and select the teacher's name from the combo box in the right panel. To set the teacher you're adding as the course's main teacher, also check "Main Teacher?".
      • To delete a teacher, check "Delete?" next to their name.
  • Has marks
    • Should the teacher record marks for this course?
  • Has reports
    • Does this class show up on report cards?
  • Attendance Fuzzy
    • Does this class fuzzy with other classes when the teacher is taking attendance?
  • Mark collection fuzzy
    • Does this class fuzzy with other classes when the teacher is recording marks and reports?
  • Honours Course
    • Is this class an honours course?
  • Cumulative course
    • Is this class the cumulative course for a rotating subject? There can only be one cumulative course, and it must have this flag set.
  • Sex
    • Is this course restricted to just one gender? This is used when doing the preselection dry run
  • Include in Parent Teacher scheduling
    • Does this class have PT meetings?
  • Autofill these grades
    • Which grades should be autofilled into this course when doing the academic dry run? This is so that you can have a Math 10 set that is exclusively reserved for grade 9s.

Schedule Details

Use this tab to schedule a course. First, choose a block and click the "Select Block" button. After tweaking any specializations, save the page and the course will be scheduled.

The "Set registration date" Utility

Sets the registration date of all students registered in this course to the starting date of the course. This is safe to use - once you have your course completely configured and you've clicked "Save", click this.

The "Course is over" Utility

Sets the course as ended. This is very difficult to undo, so do not click it by accident.
