Importing an application

  • Start at Administration->Admissions->List web applications
  • Choose an application to import - click on the red Import link.
  • The import process attempts to prevent the duplication of people and addresses within the SDS, but it may need some help here. In the first instance, it looks at the parents to see if they are already in the SDS. Some parents may list themselves as the emergency contact, and this might confuse things. Some parents will already be in the SDS if (a) they have children already here (b) they are listed as the emergency contacts for someone else (c) they work at the school (d) they created the account for the application. Click on the radio button beside the choice that you want the SDS to take during the import process. If you are not sure, then you should abort the import process and sort out the existing SDS data first (Richard can help here).
  • Click Continue.
  • If the SDS needs to confirm an address (because it found a similar one) it will do so next
  • When it is ready, the SDS reports "This application is ready for import". You can print it at this stage (you will still have access to it after the import process). Press Import Application.
  • This will automatically add all of the information from the application to the SDS, and redirect you into the Admissions Workflow Process.
